INSTAGRAM TRAVELERS

Travel lovers introduce us to distant and wonderful worlds through their photos.

Maritina and Konstantinos met in 2014 in the creative department of an advertising company where they both worked at the time. They traveled together for the first time to Vietnam in 2016, and in 2019, they opened their Instagram page to share experiences and inspire others to travel.

“For us, travel now means photography – the challenges, the surprises, the people, and the landscapes we encounter before and within every click,” says Maritina.

In Namibia, they saw the most surreal and authentic images.

“We drove 7-9 hours a day on endless dirt roads, got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere, saw buried Bavarian towns in the desert, witnessed local tribes living harmoniously with the modern world, and slept every night on the roof of our car, under the clearest sky we’ve ever seen. In Ghost Town, a buried art town, we were stunned by the beauty and wanted to photograph a building at night under the stars. The guards informed us that it’s forbidden to enter after sunset due to wild animals like hyenas roaming around. We took the risk, photographed the house at dawn, and the view of the sunrise through the buried houses will stay with us forever.”

The Farawayfarers discover places they didn’t even know existed through Google Earth.

“When we see otherworldly landscapes on the screen, we feel a thrill and say, ‘This is what we want to photograph!’ We are constantly concerned about the ‘future’ of ecosystems and often wonder if it’s the last time we will see a particular scene in a place. That’s why, when we witness nature’s wonders, glaciers, alpine lakes, volcanic craters, we feel awe and a bittersweet emotion.”
