A few words from Kommigraphics, which was entrusted with the project:
It all started with the need to create the logo for Farawayfarers and the visual representation of the concepts hidden in their intricate and complex name (far away – wayfarers).
The custom Sans Serif characters, designed with features of strong geometry and alternating contrasts in their weights, visually and abstractly express the concept of distance (far away), as well as the contrasts of the landscapes they visit (wayfarers). These individual characters were then developed into a complete font family, consisting of 3 weights — Regular, Bold, and Light.
The main design aimed to aesthetically convey the technological background of the duo’s work, as well as the depiction of all the technical markings and specifications carried by their equipment.
A Sans Serif Display font designed for title use, with the ability to also be used in small body text. Fully structured and balanced, its design is characterized by simplicity, as well as the harmony of absolute shapes and the endings in curved forms.
Its overall shape extends more in width, giving it a more technological essence and making it suitable for effective use on merchandising products.
